  1. I don’t know why we continue to teach children that Columbus was a great man. When the reality is he tortured and killed thousands of Native Americans. Who by the way had discovered America first. But we like to forget all about that and call Columbus a hero.My children know have been taught the truth about Columbus. If people were to do bit of research, you would realize that Columbus was not a hero.

  2. Columbus is the acknowledged discoverer of America, not ONE of the discoverers.

  4. He sailed the ocean blue but the greeks had known the world was round 2000 yrs earlier by watching the eclipse. He sailed for gold and ending up in the bahamas first before America he found cotton, spices, etc. before gold. He also brought disease which brought death to the natives of the already populated land. He took slaves also. He just opened up the trade routes of the Atlantic ocean where others had not recorded the same. It also brought about the downfall of the Native American Indian tribes which is not told.
